Cloud Hands Qigong Workshop

Jaunita Lew will be in Lewiston November 2nd and 3rd to teach the Cloud Hands set at the Quiet Tiger studio.  No prerequisite required.

Cloud Hands

(also known as the Short 31) is the beginning set of Qigong (“internal cultivation”) which builds a foundation for both health and further Qigong. The Cloud Hands consists of five relatively non-strenuous movements along with a seated quiet meditation. These traditional Taoist exercises help the body maintain good health and increase vitality. The time required for practice will fit into anyone’s schedule.

The Instructor:

It is Juanita Lew’s great honor to have been Master Share K. Lew’s wife and partner for 34 years, as well as co-teacher for over 30 years. Juanita has dedicated herself to follows in Master Lew’s footsteps teaching the Tao Ahn Pai as Master Lew wanted it taught. Before Master Lew’s passing in July 2012, Juanita was told, “you must be teach. ”

Master Share K. Lew, was 94, a Taoist priest with over 70 years experience in the traditional Taoist arts. Part of Master Lew’s education took place at Wong Lung Kwan, a Taoist monastery in the Luo Fo mountains near Canton, China where he studied for 13 years. During that time he trained in the full range of Taoist healing and martial arts. At the core of his training was the secret system of cultivation know as Neigung. Master Lew was the first person to openly teach authentic Taoist Neigung to non-Chinese, beginning in Los Angeles in 1970. Master Lew’s monastery style, the Tao Ahn Pai (Taoist Elixir Style), dates back over 1,300 years to Lu Dung Bin, who was born during the Tang Dynasty, and became one of the Eight Immortals of Taoism.
